Hello,

My name is Robert KC9HAX, I am working with our local club www.lvarc.net (Dearborn, Ohio county Indiana), ARES to setup a packet to link to Indianapolis. I can reach the node N9LQP on 145.050 in Greensburg, Indiana.

What packet programs do you use?

I am familiar with APRS and have an I-Gate KC9HAX, and set up our Club APRS digis. But I am still on a learning curve with packet.

To have reliable packet coverage in area I would have to setup a Digi or Node at my QTH.
I have an elcom microUSB TNC. and an Yeasu 2m radio that was setup for APRS.
I also have a club packet station with a KPC-3 Version 6 and a Motorola radio fixed to 145.050 and 145.100.

What programs are use to setup a packet digi or node?
Are there any other packet stations around Southeast Indiana?

Thank you,
Robert Lischkge

HI ROBERT
Well you might send Jerry n9lya on this forum, he is the guru for packet around here<mitchell Indiana>.
I am attempting to start packet up, but have not found a simple program to use, most have way to much add on's, I am just wanting a simple program, send/receive and nothing more but haven't found one yet.

See you on packet..sometime, if/when I get started

You might want to try PuTTY. It seems simple enough to me.
